American IP-Region different from Billing State
- When the location of the user does not match the location he put on his/her profile
- We never put false positive for this rule
Rule 30007 will hit when the IP location does not match the billing location. This IP 'mismatch' means that we have to check if the user is in a supported (IP) location.
STEP 1- When we have a failed IDM that is triggered for manual review, we can see which rule was hit by checking the ledger. For more information we will need to check IDM
STEP 2 - Once logged into IDM we click 'Analysis' and search the user by the user ID. We click on the top undecided result to see the details of the search.
STEP 3 - Next you check the 'Details' tab of the search. Here you can see the major rule hit, the IP region and whether the user is using an IP proxy.
STEP 4 - Then we need to check the rules tab to see all the rules that have been hit. Here all the rules hit will be listed. It also includes a description of the rule.
STEP 5 - Then we need to check the External Services tab. Here you will see the Maxmind results that list the IP city, Region name, country name and whether or not the user is using a proxy.
STEP 6 - Once we have established that the IP is from a state that is supported then we may proceed with clearing the user and approving them. See more below.
STEP 7 - We need to remove the user from the watchlist. To do this we open the lead by right clicking the email address in the compliance page and selecting 'open in a new tab'. IMPORTANT- You must open this in a new tab.
STEP 8 - Once the lead has been opened in a new tab click on 'Manage' to remove the user from the watchlist for the rule hit. Use the Reason: 'False Positive- the user is in "State Name" USA '.
STEP 9 - If all the documents were acceptable and the user is off the watchlist, we can approve the user.
We DO NOT leave a False Positive Note
